The hardest part of an expat loan is finding a lender that will look at it.

Who lends abroad

NAB, Westpac and St.George publish that they don’t lend to overseas residents. We check every lender’s published position.

Currency haircut

Lenders count around 80% of foreign income in major currencies — less, or nothing, for others.

LVR caps

Foreign-income loans often cap at 70–80% LVR. See what deposit you’d need.

    We run the numbers

Income shading, a 3% stress test, living-cost benchmarks, LVR, stamp duty and scheme rules — for each lender.

  3. 3

    Walk in prepared

Guides

Use it in your AI assistant

Ask Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or Cursor to run this check for you. Our free MCP server gives them the same rules engine: lender fit, borrowing power, 2026–27 stamp duty and grants, the 5% Deposit Scheme and live rates. No sign-in, and nothing is shared with a broker unless you say so in the chat.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. The check, the report and the what-if tools are free, with no sign-up. If you choose to talk to us about a loan and go ahead, the lender pays us commission (set out in our Credit Guide). You never pay us a fee.

Why do so few lenders show up for me?

Because most mainstream lenders publish that they don’t lend to borrowers living overseas, or don’t publish expat lending at all. Specialist lenders that do lend to expats often don’t publish their rules online — a broker can access them.

Which lenders do you check?

92 in total: 88 Australian banks and lenders — majors, customer-owned banks, online lenders and more — using the rates, LVR limits and residency rules they publish through Open Banking (data as of 27 Oct 2026), 2 non-bank lenders from their own published rate sheets, and 2 modelled specialist lenders. Rules lenders don’t publish, like time in job, are typical settings for each type of lender.

Will this affect my credit score?

No. We don’t run a credit check.
